Born in New Haven on Nov. 24, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Morse Torino. Prior to retirement in the late 1990s, Holcomb was a banker with the former Union Trust Company in the New Haven area, and later with Wachovia Bank in Shelton.
